In January this year (2021) I played a solo piano Live Stream from my home studio and I featured music written by leading jazz pianists (as well as a piece by Edvard Grieg).

And here you can listen to the individual tracks.

Watermelon Man buy Herbie Hancock
Played by Terry

Herbie is another of my favourite jazz piano innovators and here is his most renowned piece - Watermelon Man, from his 1962 debut album on the Blue Note label- Takin’ Off

Notturno by Edvard Grieg
Played by Terry

This is from the six Lyric Pieces of Book V for piano Op.54 written by Edvard Grieg in 1891. My excuse for including this classical (apart from its inherent beauty) is that the Romantic and Impressionist composers often used harmonic devices which have become common place in Jazz.

Joy Blues (By Ray Bryant)

Windfall (By John Taylor)

Peruchin (Charlie Otwell)

Highland Aire (Lyle Mays)
